Next Step Ministries provides refuge, advocacy and education
to survivors of domestic violence and the broader community.
Three ways you can help
How We Started...
In 1998, after the death of a local schoolteacher, several leaders in our community came to the realization that there was nowhere for domestic violence victims to turn to in Kernersville. They recognized that there were people in our own area who didn’t have a safe place to rest their head. With that in mind, Next Step Ministries was created. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of providing refuge, advocacy and education to survivors of domestic violence and the broader community.
The Thrift Store
The Next Step Ministries Thrift Store has been a wonderful addition to Next Step Ministries since we opened our doors in 2005. The store contributes just over 50% of the agency’s total annual income and provides guests and nonresidential clients the opportunity to shop at the store at no charge. Often times, guests come to us without much more than the clothes on their backs. Donating to us ensures that we will have inventory to meet the needs of our guests of all ages and sizes.
Are you or someone you love paralyzed by worry? Has COVID-19 made things tense at home? Join Next Step Ministries in a one-night informational workshop on recognizing and coping with anxiety. We will explore the ways in which anxiety presents in our lives and how to reduce its impact through healthy coping mechanisms. This meeting will be held virtually via GoToMeeting and requires registration by July 31st. Please register by clicking on the button below to confidentially register for the class.
