Three ways you can help
How We Started...

In 1998, after the death of a local schoolteacher, several leaders in our community came to the realization that there was nowhere for domestic violence victims to turn to in Kernersville. They recognized that there were people in our own area who didn’t have a safe place to rest their heads. With that in mind, Next Step Ministries was created. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of providing refuge, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and the broader community.

The Thrift Store
The Next Step Ministries Thrift Store has been a wonderful addition to Next Step Ministries since we opened our doors in 2005. The store contributes just over 50% of the agency’s total annual income and provides guests and nonresidential clients the opportunity to shop at the store at no charge. Often times, guests come to us without much more than the clothes on their backs. Donating to us ensures that we will have inventory to meet the needs of our guests of all ages and sizes.
